I have three answers to your question. He doesn't help around the house, and just lounges around like a human lawn chair because::
A.) He's a lazy, inconsiderate man-dumpling.
B.) He has a stressful job, and doesn't know how to blow off steam constructively, so he just melts into a puddle of hairy pudding.
C.) He doesn't know you need help.
The answer is probably a combination of all three, but let's emphasize numero tres. Have you told him how you feel? Not nagged him, or passive-aggressively crossed your arms and sighed at him. Actually sat him down and looked at him with your soft, gentle, Bambi-like eyes and cooed, "Dude, I love you and shit. You're the bestest. But if you don't get off your ass here and there and help a woman out around the house, I'm going to paint the walls with buckshot."
I'm not saying he'll jump up and magically turn into a butler. I'm also not saying that you'll necessarily want him to scrub anything, because a man's sense of "clean" isn't a woman's sense, which is similar to a surgeons. But it sounds like you need a little empathy and support on the home front, and bluntly, but lovingly, telling him you need him to care a little is the first important step.to him reintroducing himself to the hamper (which is the thing that looks like a Star Wars droid. You can use that.)
Nah, like most women she expects him to be a mind reader and just magically know, even though the only people she'll actually talk to about what she needs are her friends who keep telling her to "Leave that asshole".
Heh. I'm such a slob. Only girl in the house, only one that needs nagging to take out the trash and wash up and things.
I get busy. And forgetful. :) It's not out of laziness - I have two jobs and I'm studying. A girl needs down time too, you know?
Also, some advice - I started doing a lot more cleaning when it wasn't done for me. Like, I'd get in from a late shift and that pile of washing up I'd left would be done and I would just think ahhh, that's one thing at least I don't have to do. If talking to him doesn't help, just stop doing his stuff for a bit - he'll soon see how much you do :D
(But with that I'm assuming you work as well? Cause if not, if you're a housewife, then that's kind of what your job IS. That whole reason you DON'T have to get a job, is because he's paying for the both of you so you can run the household.)

I wonder if SHE has a job. He probably is tired from work. If he works 8 hours a day to contribute to the house, does she do 8 hours of housework a day? If she also has a job, or does an equal amount of work, then I absolutely agree with Reformed Player. Otherwise, she should stop being such a hypocrite.
