Nothing is wrong with you.
People hate to admit they need help. Guys know that – you ask a guy how he is and he’ll say he is fine even if he is currently on fire.
So lets break it down for you.
You are studying for a profession.
Barely an adult yourself.
Got two preschoolers, one who needs a massive amount of time and attention.
Standing up for yourself and your kids and actually going through court.
And you are shamed to ask for help in carrying a load that would snap most people’s spines like a twig?
You may be a lot of things – total idiot comes to mind – but weak is not one of them.
If you broke your leg would you be ashamed to use a crutch? If your car broke down, would you be ashamed to accept a lift from a friend? If you fell down in the street would you refuse someone’s hand to help you up again?
Pride is a good thing usually. It can easily veer into foolish territory though.
Gonna repeat something I said before: “Accepting a gift honors the giver. Refusing a gift diminishes the refuser.”
They are your friends. People who love you and who want you to succeed.
Let them. You are lucky to have them.
