Because it's not his kid? And are you reading his lack of excitement as total apathy? Is he obligated to be bouncing off of walls?
Let's be real. Children and new born babies are a much bigger chick thing than guy thing. Most men are deathly afraid of babies because it makes them think of the responsibility involved. Not just playing with their toes. So while I'm sure he's happy that he has a new family member on the way, as a guy, I can totally see him not running out to stores looking at baby clothes.
Again, that's a chick response. In fact, even as a father myself, it took a while for me to fully get into the daddy mode. And even now, clothes shopping is completely intimidating. Most guys become more active in nieces and nephews lives as they get older and talk and use the bathroom on their own and develop personalities. Chicks dig babies.
Point is, because it's not his child, he's probably happy about it but I think its unfair to expect him to be as excited as maybe you are or any other woman. We're not women. We do things different.
Ummm I'm a chick and I don't really dig newborn babies, they look like aliens lol.
I'm a girl and have no interest whatsoever in children or babies, I have refused to babysit my best friends' children. I want my own kids when the time is right; but loathe when people will shove their children in my face asking me to confirm their nonexistent cuteness.
"chick thing" "chick response" "chicks dig babies"? What is this, 1972?
