Oh that's easy, guys (much like people in general) are territorial as hell. It might be strange logic but even if you're not our "official" girlfriend we seem to assume some sort of squatter's rights. Plus, a lot of men like to think that they're all a woman needs, so to find out that your chick is sleeping with some other guy is a giant shot to his pride.
Men have a lot of pride is the main bullet point. Think about it: when men cheat on women, there's probably a 75 percent chance that the women will take them back, with that other 25 percent shot to hell if the woman's name is Elin and (in this case) her husband has banged more women than an NBA team featuring Shaq.
Okay, Tiger hasn't banged more women than that, but he's definitely boned enough to where his wife CAN'T take him back. One indiscretion, okay, you can talk about it and work through it. A state's worth of women? Well there's no way in Hell his wife should be understanding - he's a ho. But I didn't marry Tiger, she did.
Anyway, men are much less likely to forgive a woman for cheating. I know I'd break up with my girl if she cheated on me, no questions asked. And no hope for a reunion either. It's the ultimate in double standardism.
But back to the territory thing. Look, people have varying levels of territorialism on any number of things. Shucks, if you go to an open house and decide you like a house, you feel threatened by that other couple who's also coming to look at it. As if. Mentally, you've laid claim to it, stuck in your flag and picked out drapes.
I can do that one better. I was looking for a car a few years ago and I happened upon a lovely vehicle that I test drove and named Sadie. Well, it was the only car of its type on the lot and even though I hadn't put any money on the table, another sales person took SOMEBODY ELSE out for a test drive in my Sadie. The nerve of that guy. I was so upset that I kept asking my salesperson to hurry up the paperwork because somebody else was out driving my car.
It's that serious.
And I never did buy that car.

Girls can be pretty territorial too. I have two old friends, both guys, who I haven't seen in almost five years, and I found them on Facebook. I now have a gay friend who's really more like an semi-annoying little brother. When I got to school the next day after they accepted my friends requests, I knew that if he made any comments about either one of them being hot I'd glare daggers at the poor kid and say a very possesive "MINE!" even though I really have no claim on them. They're not mine, but they're mine, you know?
I don't really agree with that answer. It's more like if you see someone driving a Ferrari. You just wish you were driving that Ferrari. Same basic concept.

Yea I had the same problem with my lover he is very territorial which I was like whatever your sleeping with other people almost all of the time so I can too when the opportunity arises. You dont want me, I know plenty of people that do. So step up or step off or just keep your jealous notions to yourself. Your buzzing me.... It was kinda immature but it got him to realize who was really important in his life and he got rid of all his other women and I really didnt say anything to him just let him know with my actions what was up. It got him to pursue me and want a more serious relationship from me rather than the other way around. It took alot of work patience and understanding. We have been together for three years now. We were friends first that helps.
Althou I dont recommend waiting for him to get his shit together. It can also be a waste of time and really hard on your self esteem.

Regarding your self-esteem, remember that women who engage in activities like this with multiple men are trying to fill in a void. They are trying to get validation from the men in their lives by sleeping with them. They will never be trusted, respected or loved by anyone.
