Why would she do this? Jealousy can lead to all sorts of irrational behavior. Facebook, Foursquare, Flickr, and the like, make it phenomenally easy to eavesdrop on her ex. (No more hiding in the bushes with binoculars.) She wants to learn all about her ex-husband's new girlfriend--and keep tabs on your relationship--so she's made a fake profile in the hopes that you'll approve her. It's probably nothing personal-- you're the current girlfriend, and she's kind of nuts. Clearly she still harbors feelings for your boyfriend after ten years apart. Now she wants to learn all about the person who stole away the guy she's built an altar to in her bedroom.
(To be fair, as much as I want this to play out like a Law & Order episode, are you sure that she's really using an assumed name? Maybe she's remarried and took her husband's name? It could be that she's friending you as an olive branch/peace offering towards her ex. Probably not, but I don't want to throw this person under the bus without knowing the entire story.)
Why did you accept her friend request? Defriend her. Nothing good can come of this. Don't confront her; that'll only make it worse. If it freaks you out, make your profile private. Read up on how to navigate Facebook's byzantine new privacy settings. And if you start getting photos of your FarmVille bunnies boiling to death in a stewpot, it might be time to report her to the Facebook police.

Facebook...the almighty eye... I heard some emails of the creator leaked, essentially saying how retarded we are for trusting them. I have one, but I ponder deactivating it (and hell, even if you did that, they still own your ass somehow) .. Have we become that self centered in this society that we need to update everyone on our whereabouts and what we're up to?.... I dunno but this chick is stalking you , remove her, block her, do whatever you need to do :(

It's not really being friends--it's the internet, which means it's one of the biggest social cop-outs in creation. No offense, 'cause obviously I'm just as guilty. Anyway, I digress. So, you'll most likely never talk to or see these people in your whole life. People have, and will continue to accept random friend requests until the end of time, or the end of the internet. Whichever comes first. I'm thinking the former.
