ditto what RP said. he is so not worth any amount of energy, time, or thought. i have a powerful visualization for guys like this that helps tremendously. it involves my highest heeled boots, and a very swift strategically placed kick. to echo taylor's sentiment, this dude is definitely in the running for the mayor of massive prickville. you need to take care of you, and this guy is not doing you any favors. i have had my share of neurological troubles, that oddly were heightened when i was married to the other candidate in the race for mayor of prickville. so i know, when you spend time stressing over things like this, it releases stress hormones that creates an immuno response that could work against you right now. just focus on you, (and that visualization) and let karma take care of things for you. and it will. be well.

I'd say one of the defining traits of jerks are not apologizing, even or perhaps especially if they are in the wrong.
The thing about jerks is dominance and apologizing is often percieved as a sign of weakness. Unless he comes around on his own, it'll probably be a long wait.

I think that that sort of behavior could almost be considered that of a sociopath. Be glad that you dodged a bullet and aren't with this jerk anymore. And hey, he should've effectively killed any feelings you might've had for him by now, so you can move on with a clear conscience.
