10 Geeky Holiday Gift Ideas For Your Guy

It's that time of year again, the time when you freak out because it's almost the middle of December and you don't have a gift for your geeky boyfriend/husband/crush/lab partner. Here are 10, well 11 actually, gift ideas for several types of geek.

For the comic book geek:

Donald Duck, Christmas In Shacktown ($28, Fantagraphics) - Fans of classic Disney cartoons will love the latest collection of Carl Barks duck comics. Read the fun, high adventure stories that would go on to inspire Ducktales.

Marvel Comics: The Untold Story
($17, Amazon) - So your guy saw Avengers and thinks he knows everything about Marvel? Well, he's in for a surprise. This engrossing history of the home of Spider-Man, the X-Men and more charts the highs (the superhero boom of the 1960s) and the lows (that time during the '90s when Marvel almost went out of business) of the venerable comic book publisher.

For the movie geek:

The Dark Knight Trilogy Blu-Ray Gift Set ($33, WB Shop) - Just in time for the holidays, pristine Blu-ray copies of the greatest comic book movie trilogy in history. No, I'm not talking about the Blade movies.

Gollum bobblehead ($13, Neato Shop) - Hobbit merchandise is hot this Christmas. If you're looking for an affordable and offbeat gift, get your guy this creepy/cute Gollum bobblehead. It'll be perfect to scare annoying Patty from Financing away from his desk at work.

Death Star Tea Infuser ($19.99, Think Geek) - This Star Wars-themed tea infuser is so simple and handy, I'm surprised someone didn't think of it sooner. Perfect for the geeky tea drinker in your life.

For the gamer geek:

Adventure Time: Hey, Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?? ($40, GameStop) - If your guy has a Nintendo 3Ds and loves Cartoon Network's hit show Adventure Time, this gift is a no-brainer. Chances are you'll be playing it too.

iCade iPad Arcade Cabinet ($69, Think Geek) - Does your guy miss those portable mini arcade machines that let you play Frogger and Pac-Man on long car rides? Well, thanks to Think Geek's iCade, he can play over 100 classic Atari games with a retro joystick and button-based cabinet on his iPad.

For the TV geek:

Game of Thrones Cookbook ($35, HBO) - Foodies and fans of HBO's hit fantasy show will geek out over this official cookbook that lets you prepare dishes from all over Westeros. Are you a fan of the North? Try some hearty beef and bacon pie. Trapped on The Wall? Cook up some Pease Porridge. And it's anyone's guess what honey-spiced locusts from across the Narrow Sea taste like.

Serenity Browncoat Hoodie ($50, Amazon) - Firefly fans will look stylish in this sweet hoodie. "Is that Nathan Fillion, aka TV's Castle, or my boyfriend?," you'll soon be asking.

For zombie geeks:

Body Parts Sushi ($4, Neato Shop) - For the trendy zombies, there's this edible sushi shaped like ears, eyes and other body parts. Don't worry -- it's actually made from Gummi candy.

The Walking Dead video game (Amazon, $25) - Any fan of AMC's hit TV show and the acclaimed comic will want to play The Walking Dead video game. The episodic game is like a mini-TV series and has already garnered a number of "game of the year" honors.

What are you getting for your guy for the holidays?

I'm getting my bloke a whisk shaped like a squid. It's perfect for him, it says 'I know how much you like cooking BUT ALSO SQUID'
Plus I can work in many innuendos to the gift tag.
