Celebrities Do The Darndest Things!

While I realize that saying I don't understand celebrities might result in many a "duh, they're not supposed to be understood", well, I really don't understand celebrities. I know they're just regular people but it seems they have SO much more to lose due to their own stupidity, and yet time after time we are regaled by news stories, usually via TMZ, of another celebrity risking the thing that celebrity usually brings...financial stability.
For instance...it was reported the Ceelo Green, currently of The Voice fame, allegedly drugged up some chick with Ecstasy causing her to lose consciousness and memory and she ended up in his hotel room. My guess is that shenanigans ensued but it's probably all just speculation at this point. By the way - and druggies help me out - I didn't think Ecstasy knocked you out.

I need to take a small chronic break here to say a bit about Ceelo and his career arc. Back in 1995, when he first really hit anybody's consciousness with his group Goodie Mob, I really never foresaw his ascent into the public consciousness as an affable singerman and vocal connoisseur. Mostly because while I love his voice, I just don't know that he has pop chops. But two megahits later ("Crazy" and "F*ck You") and here we have Ceelo dressing up in white suits and odd George Clinton-esque apparel and its totes normal. I need an advil.

Back to the lecture at hand.

So what I truly don't understand about the celebrities I'm not meant to understand is why they'd do so much to jeopardize their livelihood. Perhaps it doesn't matter because in the world of entertainment a crime is nothing more than a momentary public nuisance that can be eradicated with enough money and the proper legal counsel. Sure they may lose some endorsement deals but if you let enough time pass, you just may get those back. *coughKobecough*

Oh and don't get me wrong, I realize the arrogance of celebrity and how it can make these individuals think they're above the law and or normal consequences. But still. In 2012, WHO STILL ENGAGES IN SEXUAL DEVIANCY?? C'MON CEELO!!! Don't you watch SVU????

With the advent of social media and the 24-hour news cycle, it seems stupid to do something so dumb. Why drug up a woman. Just pay for it homes!! If you need to get your fetish rocks off, just focus on the prostitution fetish. Whether he did it or not is almost irrelevant. The fact that I'm not surprised is the problem because that means nobody else is either. It's just a bad decision. And the news is littered with celebrities making bad decisions. TMZ has made an entire living out of celebs making bad decisions.

And I just don't get it. Ceelo...what the hell is wrong with you? Don't sacrifice the check homey!!!

THE CHECK!!! You worked all the time to get your self into this position JUST to Mike Tyson and Tupac your way out of the game???

In the illustrious words of Ed Lover, #cmonson.

Does anything celebrities do even surprise you anymore??

MDMA (the main ingredient in ecstasy and the reason people ingest it) usually does not knock you out, although it can cause memory loss and swooning if taken in very high doses. Take the right amount to get your "high" and it will actually improve your memory and focus.
