Braxton Family Values: The Relationship Edition

This latest episode of "Braxton Family Values" was doing a whole lot. It was an interesting focus on the three women with prominent relationships on the show: Trina, Towanda, and Tamar. All three of them are in various stages of a marriage. Trina and Gabe seem to be on the way out. Towanda and Andre are in bizarro world and Tamar and Vince are happily married with everything that comes with it.
Let's start with Trina and Gabe. These poor souls. I almost feel sorry for Gabe even though it seems like this entire situation is his fault. But it was really hard to watch them in counseling. Maybe it's because that was some "too real" emotion being espoused in that room. It has to be very hard to hear the woman you love (or are at least married too) tell you that she does not want to be with you anymore.

Hell, regular breakups are hard enough but when a marriage comes to an end, I imagine that the emotional roller coaster has to feel like twelve fat people stuck in a Ferrari eating ice cream and trying to watch Oprah. And if that makes any sense to you, you need to stop smoking so much weed.

I've made it clear that I'm in love with Trina but it would be in poor taste for me to propose to her now. So I won't.

Yet. I wish them the best. *tapping keyboard* Sincerely. Ish.

Now Towanda and Andre are an odd ass couple. For one, Andre just doesn't seem to get anything. His entire concern isn't doing what needs to be done, its whether or not Towanda is ready to stay married to him. She says do A, B, and C and he says, well, I couldn't but I love you so that should be enough. What saddens me about that is that I feel like he's a typical man. Lord knows we screw up but are we all really that damn delusional and self-centered?

He has not one iota of "get it" about what she needs. And wants to still be able to get it in? Then has the nerve to be mad that she wants him to stay with his grandmother for the time being while they get their issues sorted out. I will say I feel his pain here. This grown man has to go back and live with his GRANDMOTHER????? For one, she's still alive? Damn. For two, it's just emasculating. But Towanda is full of *CENSORED* for caving on bringing Andre's stuff in the house. Boo, boom boom. Boo.

Now, Tamar - who I stay clowning - and Vince do have the most stable relationship. And while I do think she's the most extra woman on the planet, I do think that she values her relationship greatly. She loves Vince, he loves her and they show it. And I think that's cute. They are the couple who's still together and wants to stay together and respect how each other deals with one another. It's good to be with somebody for whom you know how to deal with them and everybody can still come back together and be happy. So I'm happy for them and I do think that they could be another one of those "role model" couples that us ordinary people strangely keep looking for.

Anyway, good episode of the show because it highlighted a lot of issues that a lot people go through. Bravo. I mean...WEtv.

Recap. Done.

Eh... completely random question. Say you were advising Towanda about Andre... you know, the dude that doesn't get that "I love you" isn't enough but doesn't won't to quit the relationship. What would you suggest? Oh, & for the purpose of this lesson, imagine they had no kids.

Tamar is a stupid, ignant (worse than ignorant) Hoodrat, Classless, Uneducated, wannabe star, jealous of Toni - Bimbo.com. You spread ignorance everytime you open your fake ass, plastic surgery mouth! You don't deserve 2 breath the same air that Jill Scott breathes. She is an icon and everything you are not. You r a gold digger & you wouldn't be anything if you didn't have Vince's money. You are on His dime. He & Toni make you relevant. Go read a book or take a class. Money can't buy you class. Nobody needs your illiterate opinion. You are an embarrassment to black women. You perpetuate the hoodrat, ghetto hoe stereotype. Your 10 cents can't erase that. Take your fake plastic surgery, wig wearing self under a rock. White folks laugh at you behind your back. You are a 2012 "Steppin Fetcher" - a entertaining Joke. People watch you to get a good laugh. That's all!
