It's nearly Turkey Day around these parts and I couldn't be happier. It's the best of times and the bester of times. It's food and fun. It's hot fun in the kitchen by the oven. It's like Jordan and Pippen, Shaq and Kobe. Well, you get the point.
Actually, you probably don't. Especially since I didn't really create one to get yet.
Ahem.
Seeing as its Thanksgiving, I figured I'd like to write up a long list of thank yous and things I'm thankful for and maybe you can chime in and chirp along. No real form here; just love.
Things for which I give thanks:
-To my kid for being the greatest kid on the planet. She drives me crazy and then I drive her wherever she needs to go. I'm guessing that evens out about perfectly.
-To Jesus, God, Father Abraham (had many sons), and Jim Bob for being the light and the way. And since we're talking light, to my flashlight.
-To my parents for being my parents. I love them. They're my parents.
-To my daughter's mother for being a great mom and keeping my baby alive
-To my Guyspeak hombres, hombrecitas for letting the bontemps roullez
-To my computer for enabling to be paid to do something that I never thought I'd get paid to do: watch pr0n and write about it...oh wait...this is Guyspeak not the XVideos Daily Gazette...my bad
-To summer, I miss you already
-To June, the month I love like no other
-To Ham, it is because of you that I know bacon
-Drake for making an album that kept the emo-punching bag references fresh and going for another year
-To my friends who let me be me even when being me is what gets me in trouble while being me on a Thursday
-To that lady who took 25 minutes in the line at CVS because of her extreme couponing...extreme coupon deez
-To Twitter for without you we'd have no idea the true failure that was No Child Left Behind
-To vh1 for showing me shows I didn't know I hated until I watched...I applaud the efforts
-To WEtv for the same reason as vh1, at least I can write about Braxton Family Values though...Love & Hip-Hop made me want to choke a salamander. I've never met a salamander
-To VSB, my website that recently was listed in Ebony Magazines Power 100 list for 2011...yay. Take that take that...
-To employment, for without you, I'd be out trying to Occupy some street, at least until it was time to pick up my kid from school...except I probably couldn't get therebecause I wouldn't have gas in my car, so yeah, viva employment
-To Occupy Wall Street for having the gumption to exist even if at this point nobody really knows why its still going on aside from creating negative headlines, no Drake
-To all of the folks who comment here at Guyspeak for keeping us sane and giving our discussions and advice much needed advice and sometimes revision. You are appreciated like Tupac's mama
-To my banks for not going on under and not charging me a fee for using my debit card even though I'm sure I'm paying for stuff in other ways. I'm just glad to know I'm not paying for it that way. Backstreet Boys
-To the holiday season, I'm just glad you exist. Thank you for existing. For which I'm glad. Duh!
-To days off. I'm taking like four. See you on the flipside.
