It's so boring so far. There's only so much Phantom of the Opera -like music I can take.

I can't help but think that William is thankful that his coat covers his privates (is that inappropriate? Sorry I can't stop thinking about it!) A boner in front of billions.....how fun would that have been?

Jlove

Yes it's 5am and I am awake to watch the royal wedding lol.

5:17 am Not really digging Williams red jacket, but it's not the guy had a real say in his attire. Gosh, I'm not getting married but I'm nervous lol.

5:31 am The Middleton's have arrived looking very lovely and loving her hat. I love how the English wear hats to formal events

5:38 am Love how on E! Giuliana has no idea any of the royals and the English corespondents have to keep telling her who's who

5:41am The hats! The hats!"The hats are getting bigger as the names get bigger"-Cat Salinger

5:48am Finally learned the definition of "Lady in Waiting"=Personal Assistant. Also Pippa is wearing Ivory to her sister's wedding. Seems kinda rude to me.

5:51am First Kate sighting! She looks lovely, the lace sleeves, and heart shaped bodice look pretty.

6:00 am It's starting. Yay Love!!!!!!

6:16am Aww, they are saying their vows. So much love is in the air

6:43am Is it done, I'm confused.

7:03 am They are married!!! The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge start their lives together!!!!! So wonderful

Pippa is sooo much hotter than Kate. I'm totally crushing on Pippa today.

Did you see the kiss on the balcony? Kinda anti-climatic. Will looked like he was kissing the Queen Mum.

Jlove

Her dress was perfect and I absolutely adored the lace sleeves. Her dress was both classic and modern, a great choice for the Duchess.

Tariana

Loved it. She is very beautiful!

Nick Nadel

They kissed twice on the balcony, which was unprecedented apparently.

I was hoping for one big, wet, long kiss. Oh well, maybe next time...

I'm British and I, like pretty much everyone I know, really can't be bothered to watch the loooong wedding of a stranger. Day off = picnic. ^_^ I wish them all the best, but I don't actually care. They're not *my* friends or family!

Nick Nadel

Day off! Nice! I hope we Americans get a day off for the wedding of Hugh Hefner and, uh, whoever it is he's marrying soon...

BlackTea-007

Interesting that you say that! i have English cousins over there and they were telling me how no one cares over there as much as people overseas do. I thought it was a funny concept. I almost wish I didn't care, but oh well, I accept my shortcomings haha

I just didn't get it. I mean, I'm as happy for them as I would be for anyone getting married, but I just don't know why I'm supposed to care. I didn't watch it, I made spring rolls all morning, went for a picnic, then watched Battlestar Galactica. ^_^

Nine months from today there will be a lot of babies born in England. I just hope they have lots of hair, good teeth, and think big hats are tacky. A girl can dream!

Signed,
Her Serene Highness the Dumpy Lumpkin

Woohooooo! Two kisses! I almost missed the first one, they went in for it so quickly!
I was cheering on for a third, like a proper snog once everyone else had left the balcony. Oh well.

There's always Harry, I'm sure he'll end up doing Vegas or something at least as outrageous.

I would definitely get married in the full Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen from Bride to Bridesmaids, Page boys etc, if Scottish add appropriate Kilting, Pipes etc.
I think Kate looked fabulous very inspiring, The Church was wonderfully decorated but for a surprisingly Christian service I found it was not engaging as it was when my sister got married. The sycomphantic news coverage pre-Royal Wedding seemed to be taken over by a more mellow narrative spirit.
I have got very anti High Society since Bankers took us and US Cousins to the Cleaners and so have withdrawn support from Royals per se but love the Englishness of it all, a strong card for me and struck up a little Revolutionary fervour on FB just to put things in perspective.
I thought the Pall Mall Crowds seemed mildly kettled.
What of course was absent was any sense that there could be other views other than the royal wedding. Of course I won't wish to miss out on an historical event but it seemed to be a Media Frenzy guiding the bovine herds to views more favoured by the elites. Lots to learn and feed from but beware!

I think proceedings were definitely affected by public outrage over brutal cuts in UK which have carried over to the US. I think they realised their collective arses are on the line, so maybe self preservation in order.
As for William and Kate this is an example of how a relationship should proceed, good on them for how they did it, something we can all learn from.

It got boring after they were pronounced man and wife--let's be honest even they looked a bit bored--but I think they were absolutely adorable and I loved that they seemed to have little moments that ignored protocol and made them so human. like:

-When Harry said, "Wait 'til you see her" to his brother
-When William looked at her and said "You look beautiful"
-During the ceremony when they exchanged looks and William seemed to make a face, making Kate chuckle
-When she said, "I'm so happy" in the carriage.

It was those that I found romantic, and I love how they really took their time to get to know each other and be sure; that's so rare nowadays especially being in the public eye.

Nick Nadel

Agreed. There were some nice moments that only come when you've been with someone for nearly ten years. Kate really stuck it out.

Question to everyone: If he wasn't a prince, would William have been worth waiting for? Would you wait for a guy that long?

user-pic

I don't think I would wait for even a prince for that long! I had a ring on my finger on our first anniversary of dating... But we are taking our time, with a "long" engagement.
However, I applaud Kate for sticking it out. Obviously this is a situation where you don't want to rush marriage.

Nick Nadel

Do you think Pippa Middleton stole Kate's spotlight? Would you want your bridesmaid to also wear white? (Or ivory in this case.) Don't you think Kate was like, "Hello??? I'm the Princess! I didn't starve myself for months to have everyone talk about my sister!"

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1381873/Royal-wedding-2011-Kate-Middletons-sister-Pippa-stole-show.html

user-pic

No ! Pippa didn't steal Kate's limelight at all! It's only an issue because of the similar colouring, but Pippa's was plain and under-rated, so that Kate would stand out. Plus, they looked great walking down the aisle together..the colour match connected them together :)
Anyway, was great to get a day off ! Lots of us had street parties, and celebrated all night! Was wicked! :)

I have to say that for the past couple of hours i have been hooked by the impressive articles on this site. Keep up the good work.
