10 Last-Minute Gift Ideas For Your Geek

Still need a gift for your guy? Don't freak out--there's still time to score the perfect gift for your geek. Check out my guide to some great nerdy gifts in every price range.

Star Trek Enterprise Pizza Cutter ($24.99, Think Geek)
It's a pizza cutter shaped like the Starship Enterprise. If your guy doesn't get a kick out of this, he might want to turn in his geek card. Warp factor delicious, Mr. Sulu!

DC Comics 75th Anniversary Book and Poster Book ($200, Taschen; $26, Quirk Books)
For the guy who has every single issue of "Green Lantern: Blackest Night," the massive 75th anniversary tribute to the home of Superman, Batman, and the rest is a must-have. For a more reasonably-priced (but equally awesome) option, grab the DC Comics poster book, a collection of some of the best--and wackiest--covers from the comic book giant's 75 years. (Seriously, there were a lot of monkeys on comic book covers back in the day.)

Atari's Greatest Hits ($29.99, Atari Games)
From Centipede to Missile Command, gamers of all ages will get a retro kick out of the 50 arcade classics available on this Nintendo DS collection. If you had told me back in 1986 that I could one day hold nearly every Atari cartridge in the palm of my hand, I would've screamed, "Yikes! Time traveler!" and run off in disbelief.

Sci-Fi Book of the Month Subscription
($54.70/per volume, Easton Press)
Books? What's that, you say? People still read physical objects? Give your geek the comfort that comes with tucking into a thick, verbose sci-fi novel by Ray Bradbury, Isaac Asimov and other greats of the genre by signing him up for the nerdiest book-of-the-month club of all time. Or opt for the cheaper (and Kindle-friendly) digital version. (via i09)

Stay-Puft Caffeinated Marshmallows ($19.99, Think Geek)
Your guy will go Four Loko for these tasty, caffeinated Ghostbusters-themed treats. A tip of the hat to the crafty nerds at Think Geek for fulfilling my childhood dream of scarfing on the living embodiment of Ray Stantz's greatest fear. And the caffeine is a nice added bonus. We ain't afraid of no sudden heart palpitations!

The Walking Dead Compendium ($35.99, Amazon)

If your geek is a fan of AMC's hit show The Walking Dead (or zombies in general), he'll want to catch up on the first 48 issues of Robert Kirkman's long-running comic. While the show is a faithful adaptation, there are enough differences to make the comic worth checking out. (Though there are some spoilers for anyone who hasn't seen the show.) Warning: not for the faint of heart. (For a more affordable choice, opt for the softcover collection of the first story arc.)

Tron Light Cycle
($34.99, Disney)
Okay, so maybe you don't have an extra $55,000 lying around to buy your geek the amazing street legal Tron cycle. But he can still battle Clu on his desk with a mini light-up cycle. And don't forget to include an action figure.

He-Man: Power of Grayskull coffee mug
($19, Cafe Press)

Besides being a sweet mug, I love the implication that He-Man works for the Grayskull Corporation. (via Topless Robot)

Lost: Complete Collection ($140, Amazon)
For anyone who still gets a little misty-eyed when thinking about the Lost finale (excuse me, got something in my eye...), the complete series collection will be the perfect way to get reacquainted with Jack, Locke, Hurley, and the rest of the castaways. And it comes with a Senet black & white game so you can be like Jacob and bewilder your friends with cryptic responses to never answered questions.

Knitted Lightsaber
($2.00, Etsy)
While he probably doesn't need another lightsaber cluttering up the house, this homemade version is adorableawesomesauce. (Jedi mind trick hand wave.) This is the gift you're looking for. (via i09)

The words "knitted" and "lightsaber" don't realy go together in my head, but i have to admit that a knitted lightsaber sounds so awesome!

How about a Galileo Thermometer? A couple of friends got that recently and were super stoked.
