Five More Romantic Christmas Songs For Wintry Nights (Chosen by You!)

Last week I shared some of my favorite romantic Christmas songs. As usual, you guys had some great suggestions.

In an effort to create the perfect romantic holiday mix, here are some favorites suggested by our lovely readers.

Reader Frenchie offers, "I don't know if it really qualifies as a romantic song but I LOVE "Blue Christmas," the Elvis version. His crooning is fantastic." As The King would say, "Thank you for the great suggestion, Frenchie. Thank you very much."

Ocnlvr83 reminded me of "2,000 Miles" by The Pretenders, a gorgeous song that was brilliantly covered by Coldplay. (By the way, what do you guys think of Coldplay's new holiday single, "Christmas Lights"?)

Megan writes,"White Christmas' by Bing Crosby. Doesn't involve a chick but that song puts shivers up my spine. The man had a voice from God."

Ellen
has a suggestion for fans of the gang from the McKinley High School Glee Club: [Glee] just released a version of 'Baby It's Cold Outside' sung by Chris Colfer and Darren Criss (Kurt and Blaine on the show) that I can't get enough of!" (Does this song count as a spoiler for Glee's Christmas episode?)

JingleBells offers a tale of Christmas spent in the drunk tank: "The Pogues,'Fairytale of New York.' Love those lyrics. Never fails to remind me of home and Christmas and of many a bittersweet Irish relationship... le sigh."

Oooh oohhh heard Chris Martin singing 'Have yourself a merry little Christmas' last night on the radio - it was like a hug to my freezing little ears, I LOVE it!! Liking the video for 'Christmas lights' and I'm sure after a few listens it will grow on me..

I recommend two songs from Kyle Andrews because
a)they are originals from this century
b)they have romantical lyrics that stick in your head
c)they are listenable any time of the year
d)they will never be covered by Glee or Coldplay ;)

The songs are "Under the Mistletoe" and "Frostbite". I have the demo versions, but i'm sure the ones on his EP 'Damn Baby You’re Cold' are similar. Enjoy!

P.S. If you must have more xmas covers, Sondre Lerche's "Christmastime is Here" isn't half bad. but it's not romantic...unless you are in love with Peanuts. and who isn't?

Great picks. Sondre Lerche is awesome.

I would also add Tori Amos' jazzy "Pink and Glitter" from her recent Xmas album.

Also Sufjan Stevens "Put the Lights on the Tree"
