No, really. For someone with such a long and distinguished career, Megan really doesn't get enough press. The same goes for Lauren Conrad, Jessica Alba, Audrina Partridge and 100 other nobodies filling up web pages and entertainment magazines.
Who the hell are these people, and how did they get so famous? They have about four movies and two TV series between the lot of them. Is that all it takes to be a superstar anymore? Great looks and a little media exposure?
Sorry, but I'm old school. I prefer mature celebs, women who've been around long enough to actually have a resume and still look great. Anyone can look good at 20. Doing it at 40 is a little bit harder (for both sexes).
Here are ten of my favorite over-40 hotties, and not the only ten, either. I could've listed 50, but neither of us has time for that.
Diane Lane (44) - The star of Unfaithful, The Perfect Storm, Under The Tuscan Sun and more has been making movies since she was 14 years old and has worked with people like Olivier and Coppola. No, Megan, that's not a brand of shoe.
Halle Berry (43) - This Oscar-winning beauty's movies include Monster's Ball, X-Men, and Swordfish, but I'll always picture her coming out of the ocean in that bikini in the James Bond movie, Die Another Day. Yowza!
Mary-Louise Parker (45) - Tell me this star of Weeds, Fried Green Tomatoes, Grand Canyon and more isn't at the top of her game these days. I'll tell you that you are wrong.
Virginia Madsen (48) - Honesty compels me to admit that as a dude, my enduring memory of Virginia is her peek-a-boob scene in Class. Now she does big-girl movies like Ghosts Of Mississippi and Sideways, the latter scoring her an Oscar nomination.
Michelle Obama (45) - Yes, I can put this graduate of Princeton and Harvard Law on my hotties list. In fact, I just did. With all due respect to Lucretia Garfield, I have to say that Mrs. Obama is the finest First Lady ever.
Famke Janssen (44) - Another Bond babe, Famke (FOM-kuh) almost crushed 007 to death with her thighs in GoldenEye. Ahem. Lately you've seen this Dutch import in all three X-Men movies and Nip/Tuck. I saw her walking down the sidewalk in NYC once. She was taller than me, and I'm 6'0".
Marisa Tomei (44) - I've loved her ever since her Oscar-winning performance in My Cousin Vinny. After a few years off the radar, Marisa has roared back with grown-up performances in films like The Wrestler and Before The Devil Knows You're Dead.
Dana Delany (53) - That's right: 53. Cougar City, my friends, and DD can cougar me anytime she wants. I never thought I'd say this, but I might have to start watching Desperate Housewives just to see her every week.
Mariska Hargitay (45) - One of TV's most gorgeous women has one of its toughest roles: as a sex-crime investigator on Law & Order: SVU. She excels at both. Her mom was 50s bombshell Jayne Mansfield, but you probably knew that already.
Gina Gershon (47) - Actress, rocker and political statement-maker, you probably saw Gina on the "Strip Down Sarah Palin" videos on Funny Or Die. Speaking of strip, you saw even more of Gina in Showgirls.

Absolutetly fab list! I've always thought that now that I'm over 40, I'm at my sexiest. My husband agrees. There's just something about us 'older women' that exudes confidence, and worldliness.

This is an awsome list. I always feel like mature actresses don't get enough credit compared to their male counterparts. To me they are sexier than their younger counterparts because not only are they amazing looking, they have the confidence and intelligence that younger actresses tend to lack.
