Kim Kardashian Is Getting Married On Sunday. Would You Want a Lavish or Simple Wedding?

So the news on the GossipTron-5000 is that Kim Kardashian is getting married to basketball player Kris Humphries this weekend. Predictably, it's a lavish affair and by lavish, I mean the sort of grossly over-the-top spend-a-thon that Uncle Scrooge would find a tad on the ostentatious side. In addition to her 20.5-carat diamond engagement ring, Kim apparently registered for over $170 million in gifts. What do you get for the person who literally has everything and contributes nothing? According to reports, Kim wants her wedding to be even more glamorous than sister Khloe's. Apparently the only the thing the Kardashians are "keeping up" with is each other. "I'm more famous for doing nothing!" "No, I'm more famous for doing nothing!"

Now I've never been to a celebrity wedding (well, I was supposed to attend the Hugh Hefner/Crystal Harris nuptials but that's turned a little awkward), but I have been to a few pretty swanky ceremonies. I've also been to modest weddings that were romantic and fun even without the four-star cuisine and chocolate fountains.

So my question to you guys is: Would you want a lavish wedding or a modest affair? Or something in the middle? Are you a dream fairytale wedding gal or is your fantasy more "let's get hitched in Vegas by an Elvis impersonator"? In honor of Kim K's big weekend, tell us how you see your wedding going. Congrats, Kim! You've come so far from being that rich person who starred in a sex tape with Brandy's brother!

I told my boyfriend that I'm walking down the aisle to The Beatles preferably barefoot and were gonna have a taco guy lol. I do feel it's absolutely ridiculous how many people go into debt to pay for a wedding. Good quote "A wedding is a party.  A marriage is forever and as such, the greater part of your focus should be in preparation for the forever thing."-APW

I’ve had the storybook of wedding getting married barefoot on a beach in the Caribbean which ended in divorce. I now just want the rest of fairytale where I live happily ever after…

copy that.

Being in the early stages of planning, we both decided early we want something small and intimate. We're not terribly social people, and the family connections are relatively minimal so just the close friends and some family for us. I personally prefer a more subtle, dark romantic feel, the cozy but beautiful church with candlelight in the early evening.
Truth be told though, for as much as I will love my wedding, the marriage and life together is what I am truly looking forward to :)

Now that is a recipe for long term.

Kim Kardashian is a loathsome attention whore whose excesses could feed at least a major city worth of impoverished folk. My parents got married in a county courthouse, and their union lasted 51 years, until my father's death last year. While I think it's fine and good to put on a nice spread, I personally would feel that simple was best. Though my getting married is about as likely as the saucer aliens landing on the white house lawn tomorrow and turning the entire U.S. senate into adorable puppies and kittens.
