Wondering what to get for your geek this holiday season? Geeks can be difficult to shop for, what with their penchant for obsessive collecting and all. Luckily, there is tons of great stuff out there to surprise your special nerd with. From zombies to Star Wars to Mystery Science Theater, there is something here to please everyone from your slightly geeky boyfriend to your extremely geeky brother (or boss).
The Star Wars Tauntaun Sleeping Bag, ($99.99 from ThinkGeek)
is no longer an April Fool's prank. Buy it now and snuggle up with your
sweetie in the place where Luke Sykwalker sought warmth in The Empire Strikes Back.
Introduce him to the world of Jane Austen with Pride and Prejudice and Zombies ($8.95 at Powells.com), the must-read geek book of the year.
Fans of sci-fi comedy will definitely want the new Mystery Science Theater 3000 deluxe DVD set ($41.99, Amazon) featuring the gang riffing on classic movies like Santa Claus, Night of the Blood Beast and an awesome Tom Servo figure.
Is your guy addicted to World of Warcraft? Well then he has to drink his beer (or Mountain Dew) from this Lich King Epic Stein, available at Big Bad Toy Store for $94.99.
Nerd rock fans will want to score the latest live CD from Jonathan Coulton, the artist behind viral hit "Code Monkey" and the zombie classic "Re: Your Brains." ($19.99 at What Are Records)
R2-D2 is simply the cutest USB hub (that actually chirps) for $29.99 at Think Geek.
Joss Whedon fans will want to check out his X-Men comic books, newly collected in the Astonishing X-Men Omnibus. Score a copy at Amazon, for $47.25.
The Star Trek Tiberius Cologne ($29.99 on Entertainment Earth) will help him smell like rugged spacefarer Captain Kirk.
Help your geek escape from the world with these awesome sound-isolating headphones, $119.95, from Apple.
Firefly fans will look sharp in this Jayne Cobb knit cap, similar to the one worn by the fan favorite character. Look for several on Etsy, ranging from $14.99 to $30.
Since your gamer guy probably already has Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 ($58.99 at Buy.com), opt for the New Super Bros. for Wii ($46.99 at Overstock.com) for some two-player fun.
Get your Back to the Future fan this awesome Biffco t-shirt at WakeUpTimeToDie, for $30 U.S. Look for other shirts for fictional movie businesses like Die Hard's Nakatomi. It's a geek reference and an ironic t-shirt!
Finally, if you've got an extra $3,499 lying around, the Arkeg arcade cabinet (with built-in beer keg) is a must-have. Get it at DrinkNGame, and make your geek the envy of all of his friends.

Re: "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies"
They also came out with "Sense and Sensibility and Sea-Monsters". Ftaghn!
Great list.
Hahaha, the Jayne Cobb hat is the only reason I now know how to knit hats. I must've knitted at least 5-6, none of which I got to keep. I can actually knit one up, with pom pom and ear-flaps in under 2 hours.
I'm still at level 1.0 of knitting (aka super simple scarf), but I have to make progress faster so I can get to that hat's level! It's just as awsome as Jayne is... (but circular needle are a bit scary, hehe)
It is A LOT easier than you think.
In fact I prefer to use circular needles, you don't have to do alternating rows of knit and purl in order to get a smooth fabric, you just knit the whole time. Using double pointed needles is a pain though, although I've recently gotten into using them for knitting mittens and gloves.
Just try it out, it's really truly super simple.
Coulton's "Mandelbrot Set" is my favorite nerd song. Ever.
Star Wars Tauntaun Sleeping Bag = disgustingly awesome. i know I'D love to sleep inside him :-P
p.s. that's what she said...
Yeah, I just keep thinking about what Han Solo said about the smell.
But the lightsaber zipper is really hilarious.
Good list. I really want or already have a surprising number of these items. Big ups on the JoCo DVD and the sleeping bag.
Although I have to ask, am I the only 20-something geek who's mildly offended by Pride and Prejudice and Zombies? It just seems like such a calculated ploy to appeal to my exact demographic that I want to tell the guy to buzz off.
I had the same problem with P&P&Z when I first heard about it. But it's actually funny. Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters on the other hand, that's a pandering quickie cash-in.
well, as a avid austen fan, i think everyone should have to read the original before reading the new version. that said, i do like both.
That's not Crow, that's Tom Servo.
Right you are! Fixed. I think at one point there was also going to be a Crow figure, but it looks like you just get Tom now. Still an awesome set.
I've read PPandZ... it's UH-mazing! I've already had my boyfriend read it. He loved it too.
World War Z by Max Brooks is another incredible book gift if you have a zombie loving reader for a boyfriend.
