-I never realized how attractive she actually is. For the most part, everything Lady Gaga does from the videos to her outlandish wardrobe kind of takes away from her face and/or body. Even in the video for "Telephone" where she's half naked most of the time, I mostly remember her fishnet stockings. Cut to the VMA White Carpet and despite her Alexander McQueen (RIP) getup, I see her face for the first time and thought to myself, "is that Lady Gaga? Wow, she's kind of smoking." Who knew? By the way, Lady Gaga? Love her.
-You cannot deny Justin Bieber. I love that kid. He makes the safest music and can dance like he only hangs in urban areas, despite being from a small Canadian town. YOU CAN'T STOP THE BIEB!
-Does MTV even show videos on their main channel anymore? I'm asking because I hadn't seen any of those videos nominated for ANYTHING. And I watch MTV because how ELSE am I going to watch Jersey Shore, possibly the first show in the history of television to make Black people feel better about ourselves. I love that show. Interestingly though, I hate all the women and Ron. But together, they make me smile.
-Is it me or is Eminem just getting boring? I think he's a great rapper but these uber emo-triump songs he's doing kind of suck. They sound forced and contrived. I guess everybody needs a good pick-me-up song but isn't there something wrong when it's coming from Eminem? Love the guy, hate his music.
-I had high hopes for Chelsea Handler. Wow she blew. And not in a good way either.
-Poor Ke$ha. She really thought she had a chance. Unfortunately every category she was competing in featured Lady Gaga, and sometimes more than once. Must be what Charles Barkley and Patrick Ewing felt like playing during the Jordan years. But man does she come off as a trashy chick.
-This awards show was pretty boring. Even Kanye couldn't totally liven it up with his flaming red polyester digs. By the way, the hook from his song, "Runaway" will be sung in bars across America for the next twenty years at a minimum.
-Taylor, Taylor, Taylor. Your depth irritates me because I don't believe you have any. Also, how are you going to get pissy with Kanye about mentioning you on the lead up to the VMAs and you have AN ENTIRE SONG dedicated to him. Wow, genius move. So Kanye made a song about himself and then YOU made a song about him. Kanye stays winning.

Your list basically sums up my opinion. Every year, somehow, I think the VMAs are gonna be better. But they never are. And Taylor Swift should do everyone a favor and stop singing live. She sucks. And I would've rather heard Power from Kanye. That song is infectious.
Yeah, I was hoping Kanye would do "Power" or that other new song with Rick Ross, Jay-Z and Nicki Minaj which is awesome. Outside of Florence and the Machine, the performances were pretty boring. That Taylor Swift song was a pitch-y snoozefest.
