Louisiana Abortion Ban, Creep Poses as a Mannequin in Ladies Room and More In 'The Week in Douche'

It's time once again for the irreverent, somewhat controversial "Week In Douche," a semi-regular round-up of the week in jerks, butt-munches, a-holes, and, yes, douchebags. These are the guys who are making your life harder this week. Ready to get your douche on?? (Not in the literal sense.) Everybody sing: "Douche, Douche, Douche, Douche of Earl, Earl, Earl!"

-- Louisiana representative John LaBruzzo has filed a bill that would ban all abortions in the state. Under LaBruzzo law, any woman who has an abortion and any doctor that performs one will be guilty of "feticide." This is wrong for so many reasons. (Read my thoughts on the abortion issue here.) Hopefully the legislation won't pass. Come on, Louisiana! Prove that you aren't stuck in 1950.

-- A British man pretended to be a mannequin in order to film women in the bathroom. It's like that '80s movie "Mannequin," only horribly creepy. Where's Meshach Taylor and his awesome glasses to save the day?

-- Dilberdouche returns! Last time I called out Dilbert creator Scott Adams for writing a terrible blog post saying that the only way to deal with women asking for equal rights in the workplace is to treat them like children and the mentally handicapped. (Keep in mind this is the guy who draws a comic strip featuring a glasses-wearing dog character named "Dogbert.") Well, it  looks like he's dealing with the criticism of his outdated and sexist opinions by posing as a fan on message boards in order to defend himself. If ever there was proof that absolutely no one reads Dilbert anymore, this is it. Wait a second. Adams is GuySpeak commenter "DilbertRox747"!

-- On the scale of one to douche, American Apparel founder Dov Charney scores an 11. ("This one goes to 11." -- Nigel Tufnel, Spinal Tap) In addition to his company's icky porn-y advertising, multiple sexual harassment claims have been lobbied against Charney over the years. Now, several former employees have launched lawsuits right when American Apparel is filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Turns out no one wants to buy overpriced hipster clothing from a gross sleazebag in novelty sunglasses.

Finally, in our last installment, reader "DoNotDoucheMeAnymore" called the GuySpeak gang out for our overuse of the term commonly used to describe both a feminine hygiene product and a colossal tool of a man. (Granted, he/she did so while adopting a username using the same word, but whatevs...) Apparently we're throwing around "douche" too much 'round these parts. To which I say...fair enough! If you've got a better title for this feature than "The Week In Douche," leave it in the comments. Maybe your suggestion will be used as the new title. If so, you'll earn bragging rights and a special thanks! And...there is no "and." That is all.

Have a non-douchetastic week!

Word, Douchebags is such a perfect term which can be extended in various ways, DoucheDicks, DoucheCocks, Douche... well you get it.More fun for us in Douche Land.

I believe I remember her posting about the use of "Douche" on this site, might have even commented. Call a jack a jack. Call a spade a spade. But always call a douche a... well a douche. Who cares about being polite?

Brachiopod

I prefer douche.

Douches are a bad thing. They're a product specifically designed to propagate the myth that vaginas are inherently dirty. And, ironically, they cause yeast infections.

It's an insult that's raunchy enough to be entertaining, but targets no specific group of person. It's not even a piece of a person, and I've had about enough of whole body parts being labeled as evil. It's time we appreciated our awesome fleshy wrappings a little more.

Would you prefer the alternatives? Fag? Jew? Dick?
I'd rather see douche being over used than see any of the others being used at all.

grayeyeddame

totally agree!

At least one prominent feminist site feels "calling a douche a douche" as someone said above is a-ok: http://shakesville.wordpress.com/inside-jokes-faqs-wev-2/#click10

Not that everyone has to agree, but there's some support to leave it be.
