Are my tears a turn-off? GuySpeak Group Question!

A recent study found that women's tears can be a big turn-off for men. Guys -- what's your reaction when you see a lady crying? Does your libido plummet? Do you change your behavior so she'll stop? Do you run away crying yourself? Please give us some tear advice, for crying out loud!

It's no fun to see anyone cry, be it a man, woman, or your dad at the track. (Okay, it's kind of funny when Dawson cries.)

That said, the sound of doves crying is quite catchy.

I do not enjoy seeing women cry at all. Seeing my woman cry doesn't make me want to make sweet love to her by the fire place. It makes me want to figure out what to do to ensure she doesn't cry again for that reason. Now, this is all relative. Some chicks are just cryers and those can be annoying. I don't really sympathize with chicks who cry for cryings sake. I think its manipulative actually - a stand against mandom.

While my woman crying makes me sad on the inside, it absolutely does not guarantee that she will get her way. I will empathize and hold her and say, "Baby, it will be alright. I love you and never want you to feel like this. But I'm still not going to build you that Sex and the City closet you want." Point is, I don't like it, but it doesn't move me to action unless I did something wrong.

Crying is normal human behavior, a physiological response to everyday stimuli: frustration, anger, regret, joy, relief. I don't mind tears that are genuine; they show that she has a heart. I think it's sweet when my wife gets choked up reading a book or watching a movie. I don't like it when she cries because of something I said or did, but I can't blame her, since I said it or did it.

I think far too much is made of tears. Not all crying has some deep, convoluted meaning. Karen Walden (Meg Ryan) said it best in Courage Under Fire: "They're just tears, asshole. They don't mean shit!."

When I see a lady crying, be it from great personal tragedy or intense physical pain, my libido tends to sky rocket.  I don't know if it's a me thing, or something all psychopathic sadists enjoy, but the sight of another human dripping drops of sad from their eye brings a certain... pep to my pepper. I know it sounds mean, I know. But don't worry, I also get turned on when I weep.

Often, I'll have my girl gut punch me mid coitus; sometimes, I need to watch Beaches and Rudy just to touch myself.

Women's tears make me incredibly uncomfortable, and, assuming it was not me that caused them, flicks my protective mode on.

If I was the cause of them, I just go for a walk until she stops leaking and can talk coherently, otherwise I'll agree to something I'll regret.

Since it's my birthday this week, I get to say: It's my party and I'll cry if I want to, cry if I want to, cry if I want to. But seriously, guys, if you see a girl crying, the best thing you can do is hold her and make it all better ASAP. The sooner the sniffles stop, the sooner the make-up sex starts!

I did it while hopelessly crying once (I guess the dude had the same funny guy's lovely fetish) and I must admit it, it wasn't bad at all though it/HE lasted too short. It's weird because that guy usually took a long time to come.

I agree Gal Pal. women sometimes just needs to let their frustrations out so they cry...hugs and kisses should suffice. If she's super mad, i don't think she'll be crying, she'll be calling you names and throw things at you.

My guy friend sent me this article about a week ago, and it wasn't even about women crying in general. Aparently they collected tears from women who were watching a sad movie or something and had men sniff those tear (they didn"t know they were tears) and shiff saline - I think. The men had a marked physiologic response - drop in testosterone and thus libido - to the scent of the tears. This is separate from the response that normal people have to seeing someone crying.

Well, do you honestly want tears to be arousing? We'd all be like Amit then!

I think someone answered my question a while back about this... when I cry my boyfriend practically falls over himself to have sex with me. It can actually be kinda frustrating at times. I used to think I was alone in this until I heard Enrique singing 'love to see you cry'.. It's nice to know that there is someone else out there Amit... kudos to the women in your life.
