Every so often, a dating site comes along that changes the game. OK Cupid, the site which matches users based on their answers to important questions like "How do you feel about gay marriage?" and "What will you take with you once the zombie apocalypse hits?," provided a much-needed break from the Match and eHarmony's of the online dating world. Now the new buzz dating site is HowAboutWe, which was recently named "best dating site" by INC.
The concept behind HowAboutWe couldn't be simpler: Propose a date ("How about we get sushi and then hit an '80s dance night?"), respond to dates you like, message the person and get your date on. The idea behind HowAboutWe is to put the fun back into dating and, even better, get offline and meet the person faster. (In fact, their tagline is "get online to get offline.") One problem with dating sites that we've discussed previously is the endless back-and-forth messaging. Of course you want to get to know the guy, but all of that messaging can kill the spontaneity and mystery. (Meeting the guy faster also saves time if he turns out to be a dud.)
The other thing I love about HowAboutWe is that it's entirely focused on fun dates. First dates should be about getting to know the person, but also about having a great time. There's so much pressure on a first date-- why not do something fun and creative? You also don't have to wait around for a guy to take you to a wine tasting or hair metal karaoke-- you can propose the dates and see who responds.
Recently, HowAboutWe compiled some dating tips based on the types of dates their users were going on. The findings are pretty interesting. (For instance, Wednesday is the best day to plan a date.) Check out 10 Ways to Improve Your Dating Life over on HowAboutWe. While there, you might find a fun date that catches your eye. Respond or propose your own! And share some of your fun date ideas in the comments.

Wow! Thanks for this. I'm just getting back into the dating scene and was feeling fairly discouraged with some of the random and downright strange matchings I was getting based on various aspects. This is very refreshing!
Looks like a cool site Nick.., thanks!
