Do guys mind "girly" dates? GuySpeak Group Question!

Last Saturday Prince William took his new wife to see Kristen Wiig's hilarious movie Bridesmaids. While the film is definitely NOT a chick flick (all my male friends find it incredibly funny), it is a female-driven film. Guys - what's the most "female-driven" date you've ever gone on? Do you mind doing "girly" things for the sake of love?

Depends on your definition of girly. Most of the gals I know like hunting and tractor pulls.

I sat though, and mostly enjoyed The Devil Wears Prada and I did once go for a spa day with a gal, complete with massage, weird stuff being put on your body and face and one of those fish pedicures where you shove your feet into a tank of hungry fish. It tickled like mad, but I'd recommend them. Do those count?

I have taken many a girlfriend to shows by Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlan, Natalie Merchant, and pretty much everyone else associated with Lilith Fair. Also, I've been to Lilith Fair. They basically hand you tampons at the door. I think it's safe to say I crossed the "girly" date bridge a long time ago. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go get a fish pedicure. (Which apparently is a real thing. Who knew? Thanks, Mystery Man!)

I've been married for umpteen years and I have a female child. I forgot what's supposed to be girly or not years ago, and never cared that much, anyway. If it's something either of them wants to do, I'm game. They watch football with me; I can sit through "Annie" with them -- and enjoy it, too.

Would a six-hour date on roller skates count?
Would attending a Gloria Steinem dress-up party count?
Would getting matching Brazilians count?
Would watching The Notebook while simultaneously reenacting Beaches count?
Would painting our faces like bunny rabbits, going to the mall and trying on jeggings count?
If so, I'll let you know...

I have gone to things that would seem girly for the sake of a date, especially if she's done something excessively "manly" for me.  But as a rule, just like I try not to drag my girlfriend to stuff I know she'll hate, she doesn't drag me to stuff that makes me want to gouge my eyes out.  Compromise is the key to a good date...and a good relationship.

I've suffered through a boxing match date, two seasons of dinner 'n Spartacus, and an "ironic" night at a strip club. I get all the salsa dance classes I want.
