The royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton is almost upon us! Guys, I know you're clutching your tiaras in anticipation. What's the best fairytale happy ending that's ever happened in your own life?
Wise Ass says:
The birth of my daughter. Getting there was like slaying a hundred dragons, then at the end we almost lost her. When I finally held her for the first time, I fell apart. Best day of my life.
Reformed Player says:
I recently went to my high school reunion, found everybody who had ever treated my friends like dirt had stayed in the same small town, never gone to college, and now had terrible jobs they swore they never would hold because they were going to be pop stars and NFL quarterbacks. Meanwhile my friends and I had all moved away, gotten college degrees and real jobs, and were reasonably happy.
OK, maybe that's more karma than a fairy tale ending.
Funny Guy says:
Top of the 6th, 2 men out, 2 men on. We're down by 3. I have a 0 - 2 count. Pitcher releases, I wait on it, swing hard, WACK -- the ball sails over the centerfielder's head. Booya! Three-run homer. Funny Guy ties It! ...Until final inning, when we lose 9-13. Note: This happened 5 days ago in my artsy, outta-shape, super-slow pitch Brooklyn softball league.
Gal Pal says:
On one of my darkest, saddest, most heartbreaking days - the day my prince left and I felt so far away from home, so very alone that I was afraid I couldn't go on - my mom and sister knocked on my door. They'd driven eight hours straight to surprise me and take care of me for the weekend. (My dad held down the fort with the dog at home, but he sent his love as well.) That's the best happy ending to a horrible ending I've ever had. And it's the day I figured out I was already living the fairytale, no prince necessary.
Girls' BFF says:
I can quite honestly say that I've never had any fairytale ending type of deal happen in my life. Especially romantically. Most of my stories are more like the ending of The Break-up, which I hated, because it was too realistic. I like my romantic comedies to end happily. In fact, I've got more stories about blown opportunities than a Bang Bros marathon. I think I'll go watch a Disney movie now. Thank you.
Chic Geek says:
Getting to the end of "Red Dead Redemption." Man, was that satisfying. Though technically it wasn't a happy ending what with (spoiler alert!) the lead character dying and everything.
Mystery Man says:
Ah, the best fairytale ending. There is one. It is a tale of passion, romance and excitement, unparalleled in my experience. So exciting and uplifting that I still feel humbled when I think of it. Unworthy of having such a grace come into my life. It was and is truly magical.
Oh, the story itself? That is my business. Don't be nosy.
