You are amazing, John. My ex got another girlfriend less than a month after we broke up, and he's bringing her into our circle or friends. There's really nothing to do except pretend to be ok with it....

I wholeheartedly agree with this advice! Of course there are a myriad of ways to “get over” someone and move on – some healthy and some not so healthy. However, pretending to have moved on already is not a copout or anything; in fact, it’s actually trying. When you exert effort in going along with your day-to-day, building up a routine or getting into new things to reflect what you wish to accomplish (getting over someone), then eventually you bring to fruition that which you so diligently sought to achieve! There’s this Mexican (Latin American?) adage that goes “un clavo...

I was afraid that being near him would cause me to possibly cry, get mad that he ended things, or just flat out withdraw from everything. Well after I realized that connection isn't there anymore I'm not longer worried. I figure if he wants...

Since you are asking how to figure out what you like or don't like, a BDSM Checklist might be helpful: http://www.evilmonk.org/A/checklist.cfm Just knowing what some people are into, and seriously thinking about what interests or appalls you, can be really helpful. A lot of people don't seriously sit down and think about what really turns them on - more should. And always remember your safeword ('red' is pretty common and easy to remember and say)- and use it the instant you don't feel safe. If he ignores you, you have every right to walk out and never turn back. I'm...

If you are in the US, your local Planned Parenthood can administer the STI tests. They have a sliding fee scale and it's confidential. I didn't want to tell our family doctor that I was worried my husband was cheating; PP took into consideration that I was a stay-at-home mom and I paid a nominal fee for my own piece of mind. The results came back in a plain envelope, no tell-tale return sender, and I then had valid paperwork for my OB/Gyn to put in my file. Easy-peasy. Good luck :)...
