Abbreviation for harden the f**k up, or stop being a whiny little bitch. The expression comes from a sketch in Australia's The Ronnie Johns Half Hour in which actor Heath Franklin impersonates real-life criminal Mark "Chopper" Read and goes around town advising various "soft" individuals to "harden the f**k up!" The clip became a viral hit on YouTube.

Guy: Do you have any Splenda? I'm cutting out sugar.
Waiter: No. HTFU.
Guy: Huh?
Waiter: Harden the f**k up!
